How To Update X Account Information

This guide explains how to update and synchronize X account information for evidence records.

Overview

After submitting an X post as evidence, you can update the associated X account information to ensure it reflects the latest profile data from X. This is useful when:

  • The X account has changed its profile picture
  • The account name or bio has been updated
  • You want to ensure the account information is current
  • The account verification status has changed

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to Evidence Detail Page

  1. Log into your XRZJ account
  2. Go to Activity in the user navigation menu
  3. Click on X Posts in the left sidebar
  4. Find and click on the evidence record you want to update

Step 2: Locate the X Account Information Section

  1. Scroll down to the X Account Information card on the detail page
  2. You will see the current account information:
    • Avatar (profile picture)
    • Name
    • Username
    • Verification status
    • Followers and following counts (if available)
    • Bio (if available)

Step 3: Update X Account Information

  1. Find the "Update X Account Info" button next to the username
  2. Click the button to synchronize the latest information from X
  3. The button will show a loading state with "Updating..." text
  4. Wait for the process to complete (this may take a few seconds)

Step 4: What Happens During Update

The system will automatically:

  • Fetch the latest profile information from the X account's profile page
  • Update the account name if it has changed
  • Update the bio if it has been modified
  • Download and store the latest profile picture in cloud storage
  • Update verification status if it has changed
  • Preserve existing data like followers and following counts (if not available from profile)
  • Refresh the page to show the updated information

Step 5: Verify the Update

  1. After the process completes, the page will automatically refresh
  2. Check that:
    • The profile picture has been updated (if changed)
    • The account name reflects the latest information
    • The bio shows the current content
    • Verification status is up to date
    • A success message appears confirming the update

View on X Button

Next to the "Update X Account Info" button, you'll find a "View on X" button that:

  • Opens the X account's profile page in a new tab
  • Allows you to verify the account information directly on X
  • Helps you confirm that the update was successful

Important Notes

  • Profile Picture: The latest profile picture is automatically downloaded and stored in cloud storage
  • Data Preservation: Existing data like followers and following counts are preserved if not available from the profile page
  • Real-time Sync: The update fetches the most current information directly from X
  • Automatic Storage: Profile pictures are stored securely in cloud storage with unique identifiers

Troubleshooting

Update Button Not Available

  • Ensure you are the owner of the evidence record
  • Check that the X account username is available
  • Verify you are logged into your account

Update Fails

  • The X account may have been deleted or suspended
  • The account may be private or protected
  • Playwright may not be available on the server (contact support)
  • Network issues may prevent fetching the profile

Information Not Updating

  • Wait a few seconds for the process to complete
  • Refresh the page manually if needed
  • Check that the X account is publicly accessible
  • Verify your internet connection
