How To Update Screenshot

This guide explains how to update or take a new screenshot for an X post evidence record.

Overview

After submitting an X post as evidence, you may need to update the screenshot to capture the latest state of the post. This is useful when:

  • The post content has changed
  • You want to capture updated statistics (likes, retweets, replies, views)
  • The original screenshot failed or is outdated
  • You want to preserve the post's current state

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to Evidence Detail Page

  1. Log into your XRZJ account
  2. Go to Activity in the user navigation menu
  3. Click on X Posts in the left sidebar
  4. Find and click on the evidence record you want to update

Step 2: Locate the Screenshot Section

  1. Scroll down to the Screenshot card on the detail page
  2. You will see:
    • The current screenshot (if available) or a placeholder message
    • The screenshot timestamp (if available)
    • The "Take Screenshot" or "Update Screenshot" button in the top right corner

Step 3: Update the Screenshot

  1. Click the "Take Screenshot" or "Update Screenshot" button
  2. The button will show a loading state with "Taking..." or "Updating..." text
  3. Wait for the process to complete (this may take a few seconds)

Step 4: What Happens During Update

The system will automatically:

  • Capture a new screenshot of the X post using Playwright
  • Update the screenshot timestamp to the current time
  • Update post statistics (likes, retweets, replies, views) if available from the page
  • Update X account information if detected during screenshot capture
  • Replace the old screenshot with the new one in cloud storage
  • Refresh the page to show the updated screenshot

Step 5: Verify the Update

  1. After the process completes, the page will automatically refresh
  2. Check that:
    • The new screenshot is displayed
    • The screenshot timestamp has been updated
    • Statistics have been updated (if available)
    • A success message appears confirming the update

Important Notes

  • Screenshot Quality: Screenshots are captured at high resolution to preserve evidence quality
  • Storage: Old screenshots are automatically deleted when replaced
  • Timing: Screenshot updates preserve the timestamp, showing when the evidence was last captured
  • Statistics: If the post statistics have changed on X, they will be automatically updated
  • Account Info: If X account information is detected during screenshot capture, it will be updated automatically

Troubleshooting

Screenshot Button Not Available

  • Ensure you are the owner of the evidence record
  • Check that you are logged into your account
  • Verify the evidence record exists and is not deleted

Screenshot Update Fails

  • The X post may have been deleted or made private
  • The post URL may be invalid
  • Playwright may not be available on the server (contact support)

Screenshot Not Updating

  • Wait a few seconds for the process to complete
  • Refresh the page manually if needed
  • Check your internet connection
